Jared Berry, from Cortland, NY. The 6′ 175 lb d-man will certainly be a huge addition to the Stampede’s blue-line this season. The rugged Berry is a stay at home defenseman with a bit of physical edge to his play. “Jared is a solid D, even though he is a rookie he plays like a seasoned veteran.” states Stampede coach Kyle Althen. Berry, has already proved himself early on in the season and has said to be one of the hardest working guy’s day in and day out. ” I kid around with Jared and call him “Ramsey Junior” after one of our defenseman from last season (Ramsey Mayne, Louisville ACHA) that was just a solid tough D that gave it to the opponents on every shift. Jared is a solid D that will win most of his battles and keep our D-zone tight.” added Stampede coach Mike Beavis
Berry should get plenty of looks this season from the NAHL and some D-3 schools looking for a solid guy to bolster some defensive spots that will be open for the 2018-2019 season. “We have already had a couple guy’s asking about him early on which is always a good sign.” added Althen.
