Eddie Cannon returns for his second season with the Stamp. Cannon from Glendale AZ. is a product of the highly ranked Mission AZ Hockey program. The 6’2″ 185 lb D played in all 47 regular season games with the Stampede last season with 2 goals and 16 assists. Cannon will have double duty this season playing both Defense and Offence with the team. “Eddie will add to our team upfront this season as he sees the ice very well and has the ability to be a good two way forward.” states Stampede Coach Mike Beavis. The Stampede have depth at defense this season and are fortunate to be able to use players like Cannon upfront as well. “Eddie is a pure athlete, he will help a great deal with us this season in both the offensive ad defensive zones.” added coach Kyle Althen.

Cannon, the 97 birth year is in his final season of junior hockey and is looking to make a statement to college coaches. “I would love to attend SUNY Cortland and have the chance to play on their NCAA D-3 team next season.” states Cannon. Cannon has something in common with another Mission AZ player that spent time with the Stampede. Former captain Manny Rowe (Arizona University), both were very good defencemen that moved upfront for a bit to help out. “Manny was a game changer for sure. I believe that was the key for him to impress the Wildcats staff at Arizona U. Being able to play both ends of the ice is huge for guys and it gives them far more opportunities at higher levels. I believe this could also be the case for Eddie as well.” added Beavis
