Ryan Scheide has committed to play college hockey to Weber State College for 2017-2018. Scheide who has been a goaltender with the Stampede for the past three seasons committed to the school during the holiday break after considering other options. Weber State is an ACHA D-2 school located in Utah. Clay Hobbs, Coach for Weber State had this to say about the Commitment. ” Ryan has committed to play hockey with us next year. Weber State plays in the Mountain West College Hockey League. We are currently ranked #5 in the West of the ACHA D-2. We expect Ryan to join the team next year and have an immediate impact. We expect that he will be a good student athlete and give us and opportunity to win more games.”
“Scheide is a great kid that has been with us for a few seasons, he has worked hard and it has finally paid off for him. It’s always great to see one of your guy’s get to move on and continue their career as well as attend college. That is what we are about and even though it is sometimes a tough road it just seems to get done with time and patience. Thanks must be given to Assistant Coach Kyle Althen for helping put Ryan in contact with Weber State and Coach Hobbs.” Stated Stampede Coach Mike Beavis.
Scheide was also called up to back up for the NAHL Odessa Jackalopes on December 30th and was working out with the Jacks during the NA3HL break. This was not the first call up for the Stampede netminder as he was added to the Jacks the past two seasons at the completion of the Stampede season as a back-up as well. The Stampede and their staff would like to congratulate Ryan on his accomplishments over the past three seasons.
