The Stampede attended the event trying to get a first look at a few of the players that may be interested in playing in Syracuse from Europe next season.  "I saw some very good players and had the opportunity to speak with several of them during the first two days of the showcase.  I was also fortunate to meet with a couple of the players parents and we are beginning to move forward at this point." stated Beavis.

Coach Beavis will be visiting Stockholm Sweden next month to get a second look at his recruits as he attends the USHL / College Showcase in Norrtalje.  The three day showcase will host a slew of high end players from Sweden and Europe.  "I have the players that we are interested in over there and we are hopeful that we can get them signed for next season most likely before or during the showcase in a few weeks." said Beavis.  Coach Beavis will mainly be attending the showcase as a preliminary scout for three NCAA D-lll schools.  Utica College (NCAA D-lll ECAC West)  Oswego State and Morrisville State both (SUNYAC NCAA D-lll). " It's a great opportunity for us to be able to take a look at a few players that may be able to jump to the D-lll level of play after next season as well as provide some feedback to the college coaches on the talent level in Europe that is interested in playing NCAA hockey."  There will be several NCAA college coaches in attendance as well as USHL, NAHL and a few Tier 3 junior programs at the event that takes place from June 2nd through June 5th.
