Stampede & Kings three game weekend keeps Stamp in 3rd place

In game one on Friday evening at Skyland’s Ice World, the Oswego Stampede's offense had a big night, peppering the Skylands Kings with 40 shots throughout the game. The Oswego Stampede took the lead before the halfway point in the second on a goal from Jameson Simmonds.

Tommy Kilway did his part, adding 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) and Ryan Gunther contributed with 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists). Steven Ford delivered for his team with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Eric Vanderhoff chipped in with 2 assists.

In the second, Walker opened the scoring for Oswego with a goal at 1:03 with helpers from his linemates, Gulick and Moukoulis. Ford answered for the Kings with a goal at 6:27 with helpers from teammates Vanderhoff and Gay. Gunther quickly followed with a goal at 7:40 with assists from his linemates, Kilway and Cannon. Simmonds put in what turned out to be the game winning goal at 12:01 with assists from his linemates, Watterson and Lamotte Stokes. Garrigan answered for the Kings with a goal at 14:53 with helpers from his linemates, Ford and Vanderhoff. Kilway answered for Oswego with a goal at 18:37 with assists from Hart and Gunther.

During the third, Zarragoitia scored a goal at 5:15 with helpers from Berry and Lamotte Stokes. Kilway put in a goal at 17:29 with assists from Forsythe and Gunther.

The Stampede’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Kozikoski’s big night as he stopped 33 of the 35 shots he faced. Kozikoski’s counterpart, Sears, also had a big night, managing to stop 34 of 40, but ultimately fell short.

In game two of the weekend, the Skylands Kings took the lead before the halfway point in the second on a goal from Eric Vanderhoff.

Marcos Zarragoitia contributed with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist). Craig Garrigan chipped in with 3 assists.

In the first period, Ford opened the scoring for Skylands with a goal at 8:14 with helpers from his linemates, Garrigan and Vanderhoff.

In the second, Walker answered for Oswego with a goal at 2:10 with helpers from Zarragoitia and Gulick. Vanderhoff answered for the Kings with a goal at 4:13 with assists from his linemates, Garrigan and Ford. Vanderhoff scored what turned out to be the game winning goal at 7:40 with assists from his linemates, Garrigan and Ford. Vanderhoff put in a goal at 18:01 with a helper from Ford.

In the third, Zarragoitia answered for the Stampede with a goal at 6:46 with an assist from his defensive partner, Berry.

In the final game of the three game series, Even on a good effort by goaltender Steven Kozikoski , stopping 27 of 30 shots throughout the game. The Skylands Kings took the lead early in the second on a goal from Eric Vanderhoff.

Eric Vanderhoff had no trouble finding the scoresheet, adding 2 goals and Craig Garrigan contributed with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).

In the first period, Kilway opened the scoring for the Stampede with a goal at 0:58 with a helper from his linemate Cannon. Vanderhoff answered for the Kings with a goal at 12:36 with an assist from defenseman King.

In the second, Vanderhoff deposited what turned out to be the game winning goal at 4:56 with helpers from his linemates, Garrigan and Dinzik. Garrigan netted a goal at 15:07.

This weekends results brings the Oswego Stampede’s record to (7-8-2-0) on the season and they now sit in 3rd place in the Northeast division of the NA3HL.
