Steven Kozikoski came up big, stopping 36 of 38 shots throughout the game. The Oswego Stampede took the lead early in the third on a goal from Tommy Kilway.
Eddie Cannon delivered for his team with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Ryan Gunther had a busy night with 2 assists. Spencer Norris chipped in with 2 goals.
During the first period, Cannon opened the scoring for Oswego with a goal at 2:40 with a helper from his linemate Gunther. Norris quickly followed with a goal at 4:01 with helpers from Candleana and Onufryk.
In the second, Norris netted a goal at 1:36 with assists from his teammates Reid and Seay. Walker answered for the Stampede with a goal at 12:28 with an assist from his linemate Moukoulis.
In the third period, Kilway put in what turned out to be the game winning goal at 2:53 with helpers from his linemates, Gunther and Cannon.
Oswego’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Kozikoski’s big night as he stopped 36 of the 38 shots he faced. Kozikoski’s counterpart, Phillips, also had a big night, managing to stop 41 of 44, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the Oswego Stampede’s record to (8-7-3-0).
