Steven Kozikoski came up big, stopping 49 of 50 shots throughout the game. The Oswego Stampede took the lead before the halfway point in the third on a goal from Trevor Forsythe.
Trevor Forsythe chipped in with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Josh Wallace had no trouble finding the scoresheet, adding 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).
In the second, Wallace opened the scoring for Oswego with a goal at 15:33 with helpers from teammates Walker and Forsythe.
During the third period, Forsythe netted what turned out to be the game winning goal at 7:30 with helpers from Hart and Wallace. Barter finally put New England on the board with a goal at 19:25 with assists from his linemates, Lempiainen and Norris.
Oswego’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Kozikoski’s big night as he stopped 49 of the 50 shots he faced. On the other hand, Kozikoski’s counterpart, Ghimpeteanu, and the Stars’ defense did not have such a great night stopping only 17 of 19 shots.
This win brings the Oswego Stampede’s record to (2-4-1-0).
The Stampede lost the first game of the weekend on Saturday evening 3-0 to the same Stars team as they just just couldn’t seem to get the offense going. Ben White was huge in net for the Stampede turning away 38 of the 41 shots he faced in the contest. The Stamp were out shot in the game 41-15 and just never got a jump on the Stars.
