The Stampede fall to the PowerHawks 4-2

Steven Kozikoski came up big, stopping 48 of 52 shots throughout the game. The Niagara Falls PowerHawks took the lead before the halfway point in the second on a goal from Stephen Minichiello.

Stephen Minichiello chipped in with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Gage Mueller delivered for his team with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).

During the first, Schweickert opened the scoring for the PowerHawks with a goal at 13:25 with a helper from his teammate Bodami. Snyder deposited a goal at 17:07 with helpers from his linemates, Logar and Mueller.

In the second period, Hart finally put the Stampede on the board with a goal at 5:43. Minichiello answered for Niagara Falls with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 13:09 with an assist from fellow PowerHawks forward Minichello. Mueller scored a goal at 15:38 with helpers from his linemates, Minichiello and Logar.

In the third, Simmonds answered for Oswego with a goal at 12:27 with assists from Wallace and Berry.

This loss brings the Oswego Stampede’s record to (9-18-3-0).

The two teams will face-off again today at 1:00 PM at “The Fort” in Oswego as the Stampede try to get on track for the playoff push. The Stampede trail the Skylands Kings by two points with three games in hand.
