Van Wagner to backstop the Stamp

The Stampede have now flexed their muscle in goal this season by adding veteran goalie Kyle Van Wagner from Red Hook, NY. The 1996 birth year Van Wagner who last season saw time with the JR. Flyers is ready for a chance to prove he is coming into his own as a goaltender.  "When Kyle showed up at tryouts I was very impressed with his energy and focus, we knew within the first session that he was the real deal" stated Coach Beavis. "His lateral movement and angles were decent and his rebound control was very good.  Kyle is a guy that will only get better from here and with our other tenders pushing each other for the top spot it will reap nothing but rewards for the team" added Beavis

Van Wagner at 5'11" 175lbs is focused on the task at hand for the Stampede.  Morrisville College Coach, Kevin Krogol will surely be keeping an eye out for the Red Hook native as a possible goaltender the Mustangs could use in the future.  "Kyle is a smart kid that is very goal oriented and he has his sights on college hockey in the future.  Van Wagner spent time in past seasons with The Hudson Valley Bears 18U team as well as the Brewster Bulldogs of the USPHL Empire.  The Stampede are looking for big things from him this season as they look to climb back to the top of the NA3EHL and be in the hunt for another championship.
