Wallace returns to Stamp as Captain

Josh Wallace will return as a captain for his 4th season with the Stampede and represent his hometown of Oswego, NY. for the 2017-2018 season. Wallace will be the second Oswego native to captain the Stampede as Josh Sova (SUNY Canton) held that position for two seasons from 2012-2014 and is now the Captain of the SUNY Canton Roos.
Wallace has played 119 games for the Stampede over the past three seasons and will take over the Franchise all time games played in his fourth game of this season. Wallace has 16 goals and 31 assists with the Stampede in his career and is looking to add to those totals this season. Wallace has spoken with Morrisville State college coach Kevin Krogol and the Mustangs have shown a big interest in following Josh this season with the potential of having him attend their school next season. “Josh is a great kid that I have know for a long time. He has a great attitude and work ethic, which can go a long way for a player.” stated Head Coach Mike Beavis “Utica College Head coach Gary Heenan and I have worked with Wally for several years in the summers and have watched him turn into a decent player and I know that we would like nothing better then to see him move onto the college level of play.” added Beavis

The Stampede will open up their regular season this weekend at the Anthony J. Crisafulli Arena in Oswego, NY. The Stamp will host the North East Generals both Saturday and Sunday at the “Fort”. Saturday puck drop will be at 7:30 PM with free admission to all fans in attendance and Sunday’s game will begin at 1:00 PM. The Stampede is asking all Oswego Minor Hockey to show their support for the Stampede as well as Minor Hockey by attending all home games in their teams jerseys. The Stampede would also like to thank the City of Oswego, Oswego Minor Hockey and the Oswego Bucs High School program for opening their doors to us. The Stampede look forward to working with everyone to help all players develop and be given the chance to follow their dreams. Here’s to a great 2017-2018 season for everyone !
