Steven Kozikoski came up big, stopping 29 of 30 shots throughout the game. The Oswego Stampede took the lead before the halfway point in the first on a goal from Will Walker and never looked back.
Josh Watterson had no trouble finding the scoresheet, adding 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) and Dylan Gulick chipped in with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).
In the first period, Wallace opened the scoring for Oswego with a goal at 4:03 with a helper from defenseman Zarragoitia. Walker deposited what turned out to be the game winning goal at 10:48 with helpers from his linemates, Gulick and Watterson.
During the second, Watterson put in a goal at 4:18 with an assist from defenseman Forsythe. Norris quickly followed with a goal at 5:01 with helpers from Phillips and Lombardo. Gulick answered for Oswego with a goal at 9:50 with an assist from defenseman Zarragoitia. Watterson scored a goal at 12:31 with a helper from his linemate Cannon.
In the third period, Lamotte Stokes put in a goal at 5:26 with assists from his teammates Hart and Cauchi.
The Stampede’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Kozikoski’s big night as he stopped 29 of the 30 shots he faced. Kozikoski’s counterpart, Martinez, also had a big night, managing to stop 42 of 48, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the Oswego Stampede’s record to (1-2-0-0).
